Fact4 the day: Equine conformation evaluates the degree of correctness of a horse's bone structure, musculature, and its body proportions in relation to each other. Undesirable conformation can limit the ability to perform a specific task. Although there are several universal "faults," a horse's conformation is usually judged by what its intended use may be. Thus "form to function" is one of the f...irst set of traits considered in judging conformation. A horse with poor form for a Grand Prix show jumper could have excellent conformation for a World Champion cutting horse, or to be a champion draft horse. Every horse has good and bad points of its conformation and many horses (including Olympic caliber horses) excel even with conformation faults.
Quote 4the day: "It may be broadly stated that.....of all animals kept for the recreation of mankind the horse is alone capable of exciting a passion that shall be absolutely hopeless." ~ Bret Harte
Thought 4the day: Sometimes life can be harder then we ever thought it could or would be and a constant by our sides is our four legged friends who give us hope, understanding, love and some compassion. They see us in every state from saddnes and tears to hyperactive from happiness! They never judge or frown upon us (well maybe laugh at us lol) they simply are there for us. Tears in manes and arms... around necks. In extreme circumstances now thanks to the economic climiate some people are losing their four legged friends and it breaks our hearts and theirs. We al fight for them and 9 out of 10 times you are never parted. I will hold my hands up and say that life without a horse is like a world with no air.....
